Former Uruguay striker Dario Silva is recovering well from his car accident.
Former Uruguay striker Dario Silva has been taken out of intensive care following his serious car crash earlier this week.
Silva had to have the lower part of his right leg amputated following the crash in his homeland.
The ex-Portsmouth forward is thought to be good progress from the accident and doctors are optimistic over his recovery.
Dr Carlos Rodrigo, assistant director of the intensive care zone said: "Dario is much better. His operation has gone very well.
"He is overcoming the psychological blow that his leg had to be amputated.
"He's already seated on the bed and has received physio support.
"In the intermediate care zone, he will have more visits from friends and family, which will be very important for his recovery."
