Svetoslav Todorov is hoping Andy Cole's exit will lead to his Portsmouth recall.
Svetoslav Todorov is hoping Andy Cole's departure will lead to a recall to the Portsmouth team.
Cole has been loaned to Birmingham City and Todorov is keen to take advantage by forcing his way back into Harry Redknapp's plans.
The Bulgarian scored twice in three appearances at the start of the season before being shipped out to Wigan Athletic on loan.
Since returning to Fratton Park, the striker has not featured for Pompey and is out of contract in the summer.
Todorov is aware he now has a chance to prove to Redknapp that he merits a new deal on the South Coast.
"I was surprised to hear about Andy Cole going, but it has been frustrating for me not playing," said Todorov.
"Whenever I've been given the chance I've scored goals and hopefully I'll get another chance now because I love playing for Pompey.
"As for my future it is up in the air because my contract expires at the end of the season.
"So we will just have to wait and see what happens."
