Harry Redknapp fears David Nugent's England call-up will increase his price tag.
Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp has reiterated his liking for David Nugent, but fears Preston may up his price tag following his England call-up.
Redknapp has been eyeing a move for Nugent for some time but pulled out of a possible deal in January after branding Preston's £6million price tag 'crazy'.
The Pompey chief could well resurrect his interest in Nugent in the summer, but fears his valuation will be much higher following his call-up to the England squad.
"I like Nugent," Redknapp told the Daily Star. "He is a good player and with Darren Bent getting injured this is a good chance for him.
"He is someone I have looked at in the past and being called up by England is sure to add a few pounds to his fee."
