Harry Redknapp has confirmed that Kanu and John Utaka have pulled out of the Nigeria squad for their friendly with Australia this week.
The pair started Pompey's goalless draw with Manchester City on Sunday, but both were withdrawn early.
Kanu has suffered a hamstring problem, whilst Utaka has a groin injury.
Redknapp has now withdrawn his striking-duo for the game at Craven Cottage.
"Kanu got a hamstring and Utaka's got a groin strain so they won't go away this week," said Redknapp.
"They'll stay here for the next two weeks and have treatment.
"They're supposed to be playing for Nigeria, but there's no chance of them leaving here now. Hopefully they'll be fit for the next game."
