Gael N'Lundulu is set to join Portsmouth after the teenager turned down a contract from Paris St Germain, according to reports in France.
The 16-year-old forward has reportedly snubbed PSG's professional contract offer, opting to join FA Cup winners Portsmouth.
"He has turned down our offer of a trainee contract," Bertrand Reuzeau, head of youth football at PSG, told French newspaper Le Parisien.
"We were not prepared to do more for a young lad who is yet to prove himself. It was a financial choice."
N'Lundulu told the same newspaper: "The offer from Portsmouth was very interesting. If PSG had really wanted to keep me, I would have stayed."
Meanwhile, chief executive Peter Storrie has rejected claims that Pompey have joined the race to land former Birmingham forward Mauro Zarate, who returned to his parent club Al-Sadd last week.
"It's absolute rubbish, I don't know where this has come from," Storrie told The News.
"He is not one we are looking at, without a doubt. There is no truth in these rumours at all. This is complete and utter rubbish."
