Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp has conceded he is not hopeful over the club's pursuit of defensive duo Richard Dunne and Younes Kaboul.
Redknapp is keen to strengthen his side's defence for next season and had earmarked moves for Tottenham stopper Kaboul and Manchester City skipper Dunne.
Kaboul's future at White Hart Lane has been the subject of speculation with the player claiming he would consider a move away in seach of regular first team football.
Pompey have held talks with Dunne and were hopeful of luring the Republic of Ireland international to Fratton Park.
However, the appointment of Mark Hughes at Eastlands could see Dunne stay at City and Redknapp fears his hopes of signing the big defender are dwindling.
Struggling"I think we might be struggling on that one," Redknapp told The News of his move for Dunne.
Redknapp also claims he has been put off Kaboul by Tottenham's asking price for the Frenchman.
"I was interested in him but what they want is more than we are willing to pay, so there is nothing happening," added Redknapp.
