Pompey defender's future remains unclear

Portsmouth boss Tony Adams admits he is clueless as to what the future holds for Sol Campbell. The powerful centre-half is yet to commit his future to Pompey and is one of 15 Fratton Park players out of contract in the summer. While that statistic should worry Adams, only weeks after stepping into the void left by the Tottenham-bound Harry Redknapp, the inexperienced coach remains remarkably calm. Club chairman Peter Storrie insists it is entirely up to Adams who he wants to stay and who he wants to leave, but the former England international appears to be in no rush to make those decisions.

Fantastic

"In Sol's case, he'll make his own decision - and whatever it is, that's all right with me," he said. "He's his own man. He will do what he wants to do and I wouldn't insult Sol by pushing him in either direction. "He's been around the block and he's a great pro. I'm sure he will tell us in his own time what he wants to do next and that's fine. He's been fantastic for this club." Nigerian striker Kanu is also among those keeping Adams waiting, while others include Sean Davis, Richard Hughes, Glen Little, Hermann Hreidarsson, Noe Pamarot and Lauren. Pompey must also decide whether to turn year-long loan deals for Armand Traore and Nadir Belhadj into permanent moves.
