Barnet striker Ricky Holmes has urged the club's board and supporters to give manager Lawrie Sanchez more time to turn their fortunes around.
The Bees find themselves in the League Two relegation zone after leaking 36 goals in just 16 games this season.
The dismal 6-3 home defeat by Burton last weekend saw supporters calling for a change at the helm, but the 24-year-old told
skysports.com that the former Northern Ireland international boss has his full support.
When asked if Sanchez should stay, Holmes replied: "I really hope so, because he has been good to me and given me the chance to show what I can do when given a good run in the side.
"I firmly believe that he is the right man for the job and there isn't a great amount he can do because we've got a fairly small squad here, so he can't make that many changes in personnel.
"I don't think he should go anywhere and obviously the fans are disappointed because it looks like another struggling season, but I honestly believe that we aren't too far away from turning defeats in to wins."
Confidence
The Bees travel to AFC Wimbledon on Saturday, a game many believe could be Sanchez's last in charge unless they return with all three points, and Holmes revealed that he has added incentive to impress.
"I believe that it is a must-win game because as athletes you start to fall into a losing mentality and it drains your confidence, so one win can hopefully kick-start our season again," he said.
"We didn't start the season badly, but we've had a recent dip in form and we've not been able to hit the nail on the head because we play really good football.
"Maybe it is a case of toughening up and making sure that we are prepared to stand up and be counted, but I'll be looking forward to Saturday because I almost signed for AFC Wimbledon before coming here."
