Portsmouth have signed young defender Alex Wynter on a season-long loan from Premier League side Crystal Palace.
Wynter, who made six appearances and scored one goal for Colchester while on loan with the League One outfit last campaign, heads to Fratton Park in search of further first-team football. Pompey manager Andy Awford is pleased to have secured the 20-year-old's services. He told the club's official website: "Alex is a very welcome addition to the squad and provides versatility because he can play in a few different positions. "He's very athletic and will complement the defenders we've already got in our squad."
