Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew has backed chairman Steve Parish's tough stance on the future of winger Wilfried Zaha.

Palace rejected a £12m bid from Tottenham for the 23-year-old on Thursday, with Parish insisting there was "no chance" the player would be allowed to leave Selhurst Park before the end of the transfer window.

"We've told Spurs that there is really no point bidding for him because he is going nowhere - 100 per cent guaranteed," he said.

Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew has insisted Wilfried Zaha is staying at Selhurst Park in this transfer window, despite Tottenham's bid for the player

And speaking ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash with Eddie Howe's side, Pardew confirmed Zaha had expressed his desire to talk to Spurs, but that having already sold Yannick Bolassie to Everton, the Eagles have no intention of losing another winger.

"Wilf came to see me and said he believed there was interest from Tottenham and could he go and I said we'd have to see what that bid is. We didn't instigate the transfer," he said.

"I think the chairman has put the full stop on that deal. I think that's the right thing for us because we've made a lot of changes already and he was our player of the year last year and a fans' favourite, so we're very keen to keep him."

"I've worked well with Wilf here. I have no problem with Wilf whatsoever, I complete understand what's gone on. I think he's improved under my management. The club did well to bring him back here to give him a settled situation and he's playing some great football and that's what we want to continue.
