Derby County face Nottingham Forest in the East Midlands derby live on Sky Sports on Sunday, with Darren Bent expected to feature for the home side.
The striker has represented eight different English clubs during his 16-year career, so he is no stranger to a local derby.
From Ipswich and Spurs to Sunderland and Fulham, we relive Bent's derby highs and lows ahead of Sunday's clash at the iPro Stadium…
On target for Ipswich
Bent came through the youth ranks at Ipswich Town and made his debut in November 2001, but it wasn't until 18 months later that he got his first taste of scoring in a derby.
It was March 2003 and Ipswich travelled to their East Anglian rivals Norwich City needing three points to keep up their challenge for the play-off spots as they fought for a swift return to the Premier League.
Fabian Wilnis put Ipswich in front in the 72nd minute, before Bent made the game safe in stoppage time. The teengager outpaced Gary Holt to latch onto a through ball and slot his finish past the advancing Rob Green.
Ipswich went on to finish just short of the play-off spots, but they did at least finish a point above their local rivals. Bent scored 12 goals in 35 league appearances in total.
Helping Spurs stun Arsenal
Bent struggled to nail down a place in the team during his two-year stint at Spurs, but he played an important role in their unforgettable 4-4 draw with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in October 2008.
Spurs were 3-1 down when Bent came off the bench to replace Roman Pavlyuchenko, and within two minutes he poked a close-range finish past Manuel Almunia after the Arsenal goalkeeper had parried a low shot from Tom Huddlestone.
The Gunners re-established their two-goal lead through Robin van Persie moments later, but Spurs pulled off a remarkable comeback. Jermaine Jenas struck in the 89th minute to make it 4-3, and Aaron Lennon netted a dramatic leveller in stoppage time to spark wild celebrations from the visitors.
Tyne-Wear torment
Bent played some of his best football at Sunderland but he will not remember his first Tyne-Wear derby fondly. The Black Cats had only lost one of their first nine games of the campaign, but they were hammered 5-1 by their rivals in October 2010.
Kevin Nolan scored a hat-trick and Shola Ameobi scored twice for Chris Hughton's side, while Sunderland had defender Titus Bramble sent off shortly after half-time.
Bent netted Sunderland's goal in stoppage time, but it was little consolation on a deeply embarrassing afternoon for Steve Bruce's side. Sunderland eventually finished the campaign in 10th place, with Bent moving to Aston Villa in the summer.
West London woes
Bent never faced Aston Villa's rivals Birmingham City during his time at Villa Park, but he did experience Fulham's west London derby against Chelsea during his loan spell at Craven Cottage during the 2013/14 season.
In March of that season, Bent played the full 90 minutes of a 3-1 home defeat to the Blues. Andre Schurrle's hat-trick kept the Cottagers rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table, and Bent was unable to make much of an impact up front.
Felix Magath's side were unable to turn things around, and two months later they were relegated to the Championship. Bent left the club having scored just six goals in 30 appearances.
Against Nottingham Forest on Sunday, Bent will be hoping for a rather happier derby experience.
