The Belgian shot-stopper, a transfer target for Real Madrid, has just 18 months remaining on his deal and those at Stamford Bridge want him to stay at the club. However, his family live in Madrid and he misses his children which has resulted in him being reluctant to sign an extension.
He revealed this when speaking to VTM network in Belgium: "I miss my children. That's why I want to take some time to make the decision. If I renew, it's because I want to tell Chelsea that I'm happy here and that I want to play here. But my personal situation is making me think about what's best." (Marca)
