Spurs seemed to be cruising when Dean Richards and Teddy Sheringham put Glenn Hoddle`s men 2-0 up at the break.
Two neat goals, a header from Richards and a low finish from Sheringham, had Spurs in the driving seat.
Milenko Acimovic had an effort disallowed shortly after the break and Spurs lost Chris Perry to a sickening head injury.
This seemed to unsettle Glenn Hoddle`s men and Fulham fought back bravely and ensured a tense finish at Loftus Road when Japanese ace Junichi Inamoto scored with 20 minutes remaining.
A contentious penalty award for Fulham helped The Cottagers draw level, with Steed Malbranque keeping his cool to slot past Kasey Keller.
Steve Finnan saw a shot rattle the bar, Keller saved from Legwinski and Finnan but Fulham`s bravery was rewarded when Sylvain Legwinski collected a fine pass from Facundo Sava to coolly beat the keeper.
