24-year-old Bonnes has been allowed to move to Kenilworth Road to train with The Hatters by Bhoys manager Martin O'Neill.
Bonnes moved to Celtic from Mulhouse in 1999, but has failed to make the breakthrough at Parkhead.
"I've got Stephane Bonnes in," admitted Town manager Joe Kinnear (pictured).
"He's a French lad who is a left-sided striker and Martin O'Neill has sent him down so I can have a look at him.
Another player Kinnear is looking to bring in is Doncaster Rovers ace Andy Watson.
Watson, 24, is transfer-listed at Belle Vue after he requested a move and now a host of clubs are looking at the winger who trained with Sunderland in the summer.
Kinnear is yet to get permission from the South Yorkshire club to take Watson.
"I've also been told about Andy Watson," he said. "He was recommended to me by Clive Freeman, who played for Guiseley on Saturday and played for me at Doncaster.
"I would like to talk to their manager and see if he would let him come and train with us."
Kinnear also watched West Ham reserves against Southampton, and Tottenham's second string take on Charlton.
It is not known who his targets were, but The Hammers' French midfielder Laurent Courtois has already been linked, whilst the other game could very well have seen Steve Clemence as the main attraction.
The Spurs midfielder scored in the game which saw Charlton win 3-2.
Luton are also set to hold talks with French goalkeeper Cedric Berthelin about his future.
"I've got to make a decision and may extend his contract by a month if the boy agrees but I know he wants a permanent deal," said Kinnear.
