Rangers boss Ian Holloway was keen to snap up the Republic of Ireland youth international on loan as cover for the injured Richard Pacquette, but an injury to Yeates has delayed the move.
The highly-rated striker was expected to move to Loftus Road on a one-month loan deal last Friday, but Yeates sustained a gashed leg while playing for Tottenham's reserves on the Thursday.
Holloway has spoken of his disappointment in missing out on Yeates.
"I was expecting him to turn up and, unbeknown to me, he was playing in a game for Tottenham on Thursday night and got himself injured," lamented Holloway.
"I think he's going to be out for a couple of weeks."
Holloway refused to rule out making a new move for the 18-year-old once he regains fitness.
"I'm sure at a later date we'll be linked with him again," added Holloway.
