Tottenham Hotspur striker Helder Postiga has been offered to Portuguese giants Benfica on a year-long loan, according to director of football Jose Veiga.
The Portuguese international striker, who has been included in coach Luiz Felipe Scolari's squad for Euro 2004, has had an indifferent first season at Spurs with only two goals in 12 starts.
Benfica are on the look-out for a striker and Postiga would initially arrive on a year-long loan, with an option for another season with both clubs negotiating a fee for the player thereafter.
Postiga has recently admitted that his future may lie away from Tottenham unless he is guaranteed more regular football under their new manager.
The 21-year-old was offered to Sporting Lisbon a few months ago and the only stumbling block would be his elevated wage demands.
