Fredi Kanoute is willing to put all talk of a move to Barcelona behind him in order to continue his progress under Tottenham coach Martin Jol.
The Frenchman is believed to be one of the strikers on Barca's list of targets but is unwilling to make a short-term loan move to Camp Nou.
After regaining his touch in front of goal, the former West Ham man seems happy to remain at White Hart Lane.
"Actually, there is nothing really serious," said Kanoute.
"The officials had contact with my entourage and asked my wages, the length of my contract etc.
"But all the clubs do that!
"Since then, I have had no news. I think I am part of a list, but I am not first choice.
"But I would never leave without guarantees. If Barcelona want me, they have to show concrete interest.
"To me, it is useless to stay six months at Barcelona and come back to Tottenham straight afterwards."
Kanoute is not concerned by rumours linking Spurs with the likes of Mido and Danijel Ljuboja.
"Competition is part of great clubs," he told But.
"I am not worried, especially as I know Tottenham are looking for another forward."
