Cerny set for Spurs switch

Tottenham have agreed terms with Czech goalkeeper Radek Cerny.

Tottenham have agreed terms with Czech goalkeeper Radek Cerny.

The Slavia Prague keeper is flying to England on Thursday to finalise an 18-month loan move.

Prague are believed to have agreed to an extended loan deal, which is sure to have been ironed out by Enic - who own shares in both clubs - although Spurs will pay nearly ‚é¼500,000 for the privilege.

Cerny has now confirmed that he is on his way to London.

"I´m happy it has finished this way," beamed Cerny to Idnes.

"The English league is in my opinion the best football league of the world.

"I hope I will last out there longer than only until next summer."

Cerny will provide experienced and capable back-up to number one Paul Robinson.

Spurs coach Martin Jol had been looking for cover following the departure of Kasey Keller earlier this month.
