Cerny extends Spurs stay

Goalkeeper Radek Cerny's loan spell at Tottenham has been extended until 2008.

Radek Cerny's loan spell at Tottenham has been extended until 2008.

The Czech goalkeeper moved to White Hart Lane from Slavia Prague in January last year on an 18-month deal, and has made a positive impression on the coaching staff as Paul Robinson's deputy.

"Radek has impressed everybody in the 15 months he has been at the club," sporting director Damien Comolli told Spurs' official website.

"His application, professionalism and team ethic are outstanding. He is an extremely popular member of the squad and we are delighted to have secured his services for an extended period."

The 32-year-old has not played for Tottenham this season despite starting every game on the bench, but did manage a handful of appearances last year when England number one Paul Robinson was absent with a knee injury.
