West Ham and Tottenham are believed to have entered the race for Frederic Piquionne.
West Ham and Tottenham are believed to have entered the race to sign St Etienne striker Frederic Piquionne.
Piquionne appears to have played his last game for Les Verts after falling out with club officials over his desire to move to Lyon.
Gerard Houllier has been keen to land the 28-year-old throughout the January transfer window, but St Etienne are unwilling to sell him to their rivals.
However, Piquionne is still expected to depart the Stade Geoffrey-Guichard before the end of the month.
The Frenchman is desperate to leave St Etienne, who are thought to be willing to let him move on following the arrival of Matt Moussilou from Nice.
According to L'Equipe, West Ham and Spurs are the latest Premiership sides to show an interest in Piquionne, with Portsmouth, Newcastle and Everton all previously linked.
St Etienne are understood to be happy to allow the front man to depart for the right price, although they may also consider letting him go out on loan.
Real Betis and Paris Saint Germain are also keen to sign Piquionne, who is thought to prefer to join a club not fighting relegation.
