Paul Robinson says England 'must qualify' for Euro 2008 and expects the Wembley factor to play a key role in the remaining games.
England have endured a frustrating start to the qualifying campaign and are currently fourth in Group E after three wins from six games.
The next test is a trip to Estonia in June, before four of the closing five qualifiers are held at the revamped Wembley Stadium.
Robinson remains upbeat about the team's chances of reaching the finals in Austria and Switzerland, despite acknowledging the disappointment of recent results.
The England number one, though, believes playing at Wembley will give Steve McClaren's side a huge advantage over the coming months.
"I genuinely believe we will qualify," said Robinson on Sky Sports News.
"Once we play at home, we will get the fans behind us at Wembley.
"If we get a win away in Estonia hopefully in June it will start the campaign going again with three points.
"There is no reason why we can't qualify. I think we must qualify.
"We have made it difficult for ourselves with the results we've had. They were not ideal results, the last two games, as we were looking to win both games.
"But we have got ourselves in a situation where we've been away to all the difficult places apart from Russia and everybody has got to come to us.
"Playing at Wembley is a massive advantage. It is down to ourselves. We have not made it easy for ourselves, but it's not impossible."
