Martin Jol believes Younes Kaboul has the ability to become as important to the Tottenham defence as captain Ledley King.
King is continuing to edge his way back to full fitness after knee surgery, giving summer signing Kaboul more opportunities to shine at the heart of the Spurs backline.
And while Jol believes injuries have proved costly both this season and last, he is impressed with the displays so far from his £8million arrival from Auxerre.
"We were a bit unfortunate with injuries in the last year, we could have had more points," Jol added.
"My best player, Ledley King, was out for seven or eight months.
"We have got Kaboul, he is young but he has all the potential to be like Ledley King."
Jol has seen his own position come under scrutiny after a difficult start to the season and defeat to derby rivals Arsenal this weekend will only increase the pressure.
But the White Hart Lane manager insists he is not concerned over his future and is focused solely on the clash with the Gunners.
"There's no pressure," the Dutchman said. "We want to get back to winning ways, that is our main focus.
"I would say that for me there are no worries. I'm looking forward to the game."
