Tottenham's full-back Gilberto admits he feels more at home in England after completing his first full 90 minutes.
The Brazilian arrived at White Hart Lane in January but has been forced to build up his match sharpness in the reserves before being handed a regular first-team role.
His hard work for the second string paid off when he was given the opportunity to shine during Saturday's 1-1 draw with Bolton, and he is now hoping to be involved in the club's final two games of the season.
"It feels good and I'm very happy," he told Spurs' official website.
"It's my first 90 minutes after three months at the club and I thought I played well. I think I can play better, but there's two more matches left of the season and hopefully I can play in both of them.
"I've played four times for the reserves and it was good for me because I played the full 90 minutes each time and it helped my fitness.
"But to play 90 minutes was great for me, especially because it was my (32nd) birthday the day before, so it was like a gift for me!"
Despite being pleased by his own personal performance against the Trotters, Gilberto was disappointed that he was unable to end up on a winning side.
"Bolton were very defensive and the manager told us to attack them," he said.
"I put in three of four crosses in the first-half and I played more defensive in the second-half.
"We're unhappy with the draw because we had two or three chances in the second-half. This is our fourth 1-1 draw in a row, but the team played better."
