Blackburn shun offers

Blackburn have confirmed they have turned down bids for both David Bentley and Stephen Warnock. Aston Villa and Tottenham have both made moves for England star Bentley - who has already stated his desire to quit the Lancashire club. However, Rovers want the 23-year-old to stay put and have shunned both offers. "We've had bids from two clubs for David Bentley; one when Mark Hughes was manager, and the other very recently. They have both been rejected," said Rovers chairman John Williams. Sky Sports News understands that the second club to have a bid rejected for Bentley was Spurs.

No Warnock sale

Williams also confirmed an offer for Stephen Warnock - reportedly from Newcastle - was also shunned. "We've had a bid of £2million," said Williams. "It was rejected and the club concerned has been told he is not for sale." Finally, the Rovers supremo has also stressed that Andre Ooijer is not for sale after Greek giants Panathinaikos were strongly linked. "We've not received a written bid from Panathinaikos, but I've made it clear anyway that Andre is not for sale," he told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.
