Sunderland boss Roy Keane is hoping for 'positive decisions' in his bid to sign a quartet of Tottenham Hotspur players.
Keane has lined up deals to sign defensive duo Pascal Chimbonda and Younes Kaboul, and midfield pair Steed Malbranque and Teemu Tainio from Spurs.
The four players all held talks with Keane over the weekend and are now considering whether to move to the Stadium of Light.
Speaking after Sunderland's 3-1 win over Sporting Lisbon in Portugal, Keane confirmed he is waiting for his targets to decide on the offers.
"There's no news yet on the transfer front," Keane told the club's official website. "We have worked really hard and everyone knows I spoke to players over the weekend, and that went well.
"There are still one or two loose ends to be tied up at the Spurs end with one or two of these players, and hopefully it won't drag on too long.
"I would like a few positive decisions over the next couple of days, but I have to say I was very impressed with the four players when I met them, and we look forward to the news over the next few days.
"I have to say the club have made some very good offers and fingers crossed we can get across the finishing line."
Meanwhile, the Black Cats are likely to appeal against Michael Chopra's red card against Sporting, if the striker is hit with a three-match ban.
