Fernando Morientes' agent has intimated that Tottenham Hotspur are keeping tabs on the Valencia striker.
The former Liverpool forward has reportedly fallen down the pecking order at the Mestalla, and was an unused substitute in the club's opening game of the new Primera Liga season against Mallorca.
He recently admitted that this season is likely to be his last at Valencia due to his lack of starting opportunities.
Spurs boss Juande Ramos currently has just Fraizer Campbell, Darren Bent and Roman Pavlyuchenko at his attacking disposal and it is suggested in Tuesday's press that the Spanish coach could bid for Morientes in January in order to bolster his firepower.
Morientes' agent, Gines Carvajal, said in the Daily Mirror: "Tottenham know about Fernando from his time at Liverpool."
The 32-year-old scored eight goals in 41 Premier League appearances during his 16 months at Anfield.
