Tottenham midfielder Jermaine Jenas is determined to establish himself as a regular starter in the England side.
Jenas made his international debut against Australia in February 2003 and he has frequently been included in the squad in recent years.
He has made 20 appearances for his country but has only started four times and he admits it has been a frustrating wait.
Jenas insists he will only be satisfied when he has become a first-choice midfielder, although he realises that he will have to perform well at club level to achieve his goal.
Spurs are currently bottom of the Premier League but Jenas feels that he can catch the eye of Fabio Capello.
"I love playing for England but I don't just want to be a squad player who sits on the bench every match. I get frustrated," Jenas said in The People.
"I think that's a good trait, to be angry at not playing.
"Hopefully, if I put in the performances for Spurs, and the results improve, I'll get my chance with England."
