Spurs have confirmed Giovani dos Santos will be out for up to four weeks with an ankle injury.
But Spurs youngster still likely to be out for a month
Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed Giovani dos Santos will be out for up to four weeks with an ankle injury.
Dos Santos underwent an exploratory examination on Tuesday to determine the extent of an ankle sprain suffered in training last week.
Having assessed the injury, the Mexican starlet will not require any further surgery to fix the problem.
However, the summer signing from Barcelona will still be sidelined for up to a month as he works his way back to full fitness.
"Following an examination under anaesthesia, it has been determined that Giovani dos Santos' right ankle will not require surgery," read a statement on the club's official website.
"The Mexico international, who sustained the ankle sprain in training last week, will now begin his rehabilitation and is expected to be sidelined for up to four weeks."
The 19-year-old has struggled to make an impact at White Hart Lane since his arrival and has started just twice in the Premier League.
