Tottenham captain Michael Dawson says it will be a 'fantastic honour' to lead his side out against AC Milan at White Hart Lane.
The England centre-half was forced to sit out Spurs' 3-1 home demolition of Milan's fierce rivals Inter in the group stages of the UEFA Champions League back in November after picking up a knee injury.
But the 27-year-old is fit and available for Wednesday night after helping Tottenham establish a 1-0 aggregate advantage last month when they beat Milan 1-0 at the San Siro.
And Dawson admits he cannot wait to don the skipper's armband at The Lane as Harry Redknapp's side bid to reach the quarter-finals of what is their maiden campaign in the Champions League.
Dawson told Spurs'
official website: "It will be a fantastic honour to lead the team out but it's not about me, it's about the 11 players out there, the 18 men in the squad and we've all got a job to do.
"Hopefully we can continue where we left off in Milan because that was a fantastic performance."
Home crowd
The skipper feels having the home faithful behind them will help Tottenham produce a similarly spirited display to the one they delivered at in Italy.
"The lads worked their socks off to get our rewards that night and we're in a great position going into this second leg," he said.
"We know the crowd will be right behind us and we know what we've got to do."
Dawson insists Tottenham will not be altering their usual attacking style in order to protect their 1-0 lead.
"We're 1-0 up but we can't sit on that, we'll do what we do and that's attack," he said.
"We've got pace in the team and we'll look to put them on the back foot and try to score goals.
"We can't be over-confident. We're playing AC Milan in the Champions League. It's a massive club with great players. We have to be ready and we will be."
