Zlatan Ibrahimovic believes that AC Milan were a better team than Tottenham in their UEFA Champions League last-16 tie.
The Premier League club progressed to the quarter-finals on Wednesday night after protecting their one-goal lead from the first leg in a battling return meeting at White Hart Lane.
Ibrahimovic failed to live up to his superstar reputation as he drew a blank in 180 minutes against Spurs, but he still thought that Serie A leaders Milan deserved to go through.
However, the Sweden striker realises that Tottenham made their chances count and Milan, who are in the last eight of the Coppa Italia, are now forced to focus on an attempt to win the Italian Double.
He said: "We did well as a team but getting eliminated is never good, even if we put in a fine performance. It's still a defeat.
"The difference between us and Tottenham is that they took their only chance in the first leg.
"We have done well as a team in our last three games. We're still in the running for the Serie A title and the Italian Cup, so from now on we have to concentrate on these competitions.
"In my opinion we were better than them, but the better team does not always win. Now we're eyeing the other two trophies."
The visitors created numerous chances, with Alexandre Pato and Robinho wasteful in front of goal as Spurs held on to advance.
Brazil international Pato said: "It's hard to take, because we dominated the game, but in the end we paid for the goal conceded at the San Siro."
