Phil Brown has praised Harry Redknapp for allowing Bongani Khumalo to see out the season at Preston North End.
The Preston boss was overjoyed to clinch the signing of the 24-year-old before the emergency loan window closed on Thursday.
With his side struggling at the foot of the Championship, Brown paid tribute to Tottenham boss Redknapp for allowing his highly-rated player to join in the relegation fight.
Brown now faces a tense wait for the towering centre-back to return from international duty, where he is part of the South Africa side set to face Egypt in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
"I am absolutely delighted. For a club in our situation, fighting a relegation battle at the bottom of the Championship, to get an international player from Spurs stinks of the quality of the relationship with Tottenham and more importantly my relationship with Harry," he told the club's official website.
"He has done us a massive favour letting us borrow a player of Bongani's quality and stature who has come to us on loan until the end of the season.
"The lad's currently on international duty and has a game against Egypt at the weekend. Hopefully he will come through that unscathed and we will see the benefits of his qualities.
"He's a big lad, he's a quick central defender and with the right type of coaching and the right type of mentality and approach to the games, hopefully he'll be a massive success at Preston North End.
"He's a raw talent but he's the captain of his country already, although he's a young man, which is quite impressive, hence the reason why Harry paid so much money for him in the window."
