Tottenham first-team coach Joe Jordan says new signing Louis Saha looked as sharp as ever during his first training session.
In the absence of Harry Redknapp, Jordan has been dealing with first-team affairs and training at Spurs Lodge.
After signing on deadline day, Saha was put through his paces at his new club for the first time on Wednesday morning.
Jordan told
Sky Sports News: "He joined in and did a bit with Michael Dawson, Danny Rose and some of the young boys. All ball work.
"He was nice and sharp, he looked fit as we expected and he'll be joined tomorrow by the rest of the lads who had the day off.
"He's a very experienced player and a quality player - just look at the clubs he's been at and the success he's had there with the clubs and with his country so you expect him to continue in the same mould that he has had for the majority of his career."
Arrival
Harry Redknapp confirmed after Spurs' 3-1 win over Wigan that he wanted to bring in Ryan Nelsen from Blackburn.
A deal was not completed before the transfer deadline passed, however the 34-year-old is now a free agent after having his contract terminated by Rovers.
And Jordan confirmed that he expects the New Zealand international to join Tottenham.
He added: "Ryan took part in a game yesterday, I don't know whether it was a reserve game or an indoor game and he's just getting himself ready to come down. He should be here for 9:30am tomorrow."
Exit
One player on his way out of the club is Roman Pavlyuchenko, who has agreed to join Lokomotiv Moscow after Spurs accepted a bid in the region of £8million.
Jordan was disappointed to see the Russian leave, but explained it came down to playing time.
"Pav was a popular player within the dressing room and also with the crowd," he said.
"At this time of year if players get the opportunity they want to play football and that's what the circumstances were, Roman wanted to play regular football.
"Unfortunately with the success we've had and the players which have been in the side it's been difficult for him."
