Sigurdsson has made an impressive start to his career at Spurs, and scored his first goal for the club in the midweek Capital One Cup victory over Carlisle.
The Icelandic midfielder has revealed that Villas-Boas' approach is different to that operated by Harry Redknapp, but that the squad were adapting well to the changes.
"We are getting into a rhythm with the new 4-2-3-1 system now," Sigurdsson told the Daily Telegraph.
"Most of the players are comfortable playing this way.
"Most of the boys are really happy with the training, getting used to different ways of training.
"[It's] different from what Harry was doing. It's a bit more continental.
Spurs sit eighth in the Premier League after one defeat in their opening five matches.
