Tottenham intend to allow Alex Pritchard to remain on loan at Brentford for the rest of the season and will decide his future next summer, Sky Sports understands.

The 21-year-old midfielder has thrived on a season-long loan at the Championship club and Brentford have expressed an interest to Spurs in signing him on a permanent deal.

A January break clause exists in his loan deal and there have been several reports of other clubs being interested in signing him in the new year.

But Spurs do not intend to activate that break clause and would prefer Pritchard to remain at Griffin Park before head coach Mauricio Pochettino takes a more detailed look at him next pre-season.

Graduates

As a club, Spurs are becoming increasingly keen for their youth-team graduates to break into the first team, and Ryan Mason and Harry Kane have recently become regular starters.

Promising U21s players Dominic Ball, Harry Winks and goalkeeper Luke McGee have all been included on the bench this season.

And Pochettino is keeping a close eye on the development of Ryan Fredericks, who is on loan at Middlesbrough, and Grant Hall at Birmingham, as well as Pritchard.

Pritchard has played in all 21 of Brentford’s league games this season, starting 19 and scoring three goals, with the Bees fifth in the Championship and only two points off top spot.
