Manager Chris Turner, formerly a goalkeeper himself with Sheffield Wednesday, Sunderland and Manchester United, is a great admirer of the 22-year-old and hopes that his presence in the squad will be beneficial to current number one Martin Hollund.
"He has just had a solid season on loan at Macclesfield and will push Martin Hollund all the way," said Turner.
25-year-old Hollund has ensured Turner that he will be signing a new contract at Victoria Park in the summer. The Norwegian had an impressive end to last season, securing the fans' award for player-of-the-year.
"I believe every club needs two good keepers - they bring the best out of each other," added Turner.
Meanwhile, the United manager is set to hold talks with Paul Stephenson, Ian Clark, Chris Westwood and Graeme Lee with a view to ensuring all four sign new contracts with the club and Turner will also be looking to bring in a new striker during the close season.
