Molineux boss Dave Jones is keen to bolster his squad ahead of next week's transfer deadline as he seeks to maintain their promotion push.
Jones is believed to have had a bid to take Curtis on a month's loan rejected by Blackburn.
The former Manchester United ace has recently lost his place in Graeme Souness' first team, but the Ewood Park outfit are keen to keep him as they battle to avoid relegation.
Jones could have better luck in trying to sign Griffin
The 22-year-old has fallen out of favour at St James' Park and could be keen on a move for regular first team football.
Newcastle could be willing to sell the former Stoke ace as Aaron Hughes has firmly established himself as first choice right back and Griffin has incurred the wrath of Magpies boss Bobby Robson on a few occasions this season.
Wolves assistant boss John Ward admitted that the club were looking to bring in a few new faces.
"With the deadline approaching, we are working hard to try and get some cover in," Ward told the club's official website. "We would like a new face - two would be great.
"But it's not simple because we are looking at difficult targets - we are concentrating on a more select group of players.
"We are looking at people who will come in and be successful in our first team and that's hard when you are at this high level."
