Mark Hughes has confirmed that he will not be mounting a bid for Danny Gabbidon.Blackburn Rovers boss Mark Hughes has confirmed that he will not be mounting a bid for Cardiff defender Danny Gabbidon.
The dominating stopper was a key member of Hughes' Wales side and many had speculated that he would become a January transfer target.
However, having brought Aaron Mokoena to Ewood Park and with Ryan Nelson and Jonathan Spector also on the way, Hughes is looking to strengthen his squad in other areas.
''Danny is a very good defender and I have a great respect for his ability,'' said Hughes.
''I am sure he will move to The Premiership but it will certainly not be with us.''
Hughes' primary target remains Birmingham midfielder Robbie Savage but, after having an initial approach rebuffed, the move looks unlikely to prevail unless Blackburn up their offer.
''We have made an offer which we think is a good offer but it was refused,'' continued Hughes.
''We will just have to wait and see what happens.''
