Rangers boss Alex McLeish will not make a move for Lorenzo Amoruso.Rangers boss Alex McLeish will not make a move for Blackburn defender Lorenzo Amoruso despite the Italian's desire for a move back to Ibrox.
The big stopper has failed to live up to expectations since arriving at Ewood Park from Rangers, having been beset by injuries, and has recently indicated an inclination towards a return to Scotland.
Amoruso proved both massively popular and successful during his first stint at the Glasgow giants but McLeish feels the player's advanced years may prohibit a deal.
''I loved Lorenzo. I thought he played tremendous football when he was here and he was loved by the fans,'' McLeish told Rangers TV.
''However, he is maybe just the wrong age to come back to the club.''
Whilst Amoruso looks destined to remain in Lancashire, Barry Ferguson has revealed that Blackburn's derby with Bolton was the moment in which he realised it was an error on his part to leave Ibrox.
''There were 27,038 at the Reebok and to be honest, that's when I turned round and Rangers really started tugging,'' conceded Ferguson.
''I respected what that game meant to Blackburn fans but I knew that Bolton-Blackburn just wasn't my place.
''I was brought up dreaming of representing Rangers against Celtic.''
