Hendry eyeing young Rover

Blackpool are keen to re-sign Blackburn Rovers' Ciaran Donnelly on loan.

Blackpool boss Colin Hendry has revealed his interest in re-signing Blackburn Rovers starlet Ciaran Donnelly on loan.

The 20-year-old (pictured) joined The Seasiders on a month's loan this time last year and, with Hendry keen to bolster his squad before the March 24 transfer deadline, the midfielder may be set to return to Bloomfield Road.

The Blackpool-born youngster has struggled to make a first team breakthrough at Ewood Park, despite Mark Hughes taking charge for the departed Graeme Souness earlier in the season.

The England Under-20 international has played in Blackburn's reserves this season and Hendry admitted the midfielder was one of several players being monitored by the League One club.

"We've looked at various players - Ciaran is one of many," Hendry told the club's official website.

"I'm not entirely sure of his situation as of yet.

"The goalkeeping situation is something we have to look at - although we need to strengthen all over, including up front."

Hendry's search for new players has prompted him to take a further look at former Seasider Jamie Milligan while Oldham Athletic defender Kyle Jacobs appeared in the club's reserves on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Blackburn midfielder Gary Harkins has returned to Ewood Park following a loan spell at League Two club Bury.
