The Norway international moved to Ewood Park last August, but struggled during his early months in The Premiership.
He barely featured under Mark Hughes's fledgling days as manager and there was talk he would be shipped back to Norway on loan.
But since the turn of the year, Gamst Pedersen has established himself as a key performer for Rovers and he is delighted to be involved.
"It was a tough spell, but I kept going, holding my spirits high," Gamst Pedersen told Nettavisen.
"I have worked hard to develop and feel I have done that."
Gamst Pedersen also spoke of his joy at living in England, particularly due to the friendly atmosphere at Ewood Park.
He added: "Blackburn is a fantastic place.
"It is a club where everyone cares about you."
