Mamadou Bagayoko has expressed his delight at joining Nice.Mamadou Bagayoko has expressed his delight at joining Nice despite interest from England.
Blackburn and Manchester City were thought to be tracking the pacey striker but were put off by the fee requested by Nantes.
Bagayoko subsequently inked a loan deal with Nice but admits he is intrigued by the prospect of playing in England in the future.
''Perhaps it was fine both for me and Nantes to leave,'' Bagayoko told France Football.
''Moreover no Nantes officials showed me they relied on me. It is true at Nice they really wanted me.
''I met the chairman, the sport director, and the coach who showed me a much exciting project.
''It is true good clubs like Manchester City and Blackburn made me some propositions, but the price asked by Nantes was too high.
''As the English League will not resume soon, the clubs were in no hurry. I didn't want to wait.
''In some years I will try England, because you always have to have high aims.
''If I will play in England one day, that will mean I achieved good things with Nice.''
