Mark Hughes has expressed his frustration at Matt Derbyshire's red card on Saturday.Blackburn boss Mark Hughes has expressed his frustration at referee Georg Schalk after his decision to send off Matt Derbyshire.
The teenage striker received his marching orders in Rovers' 1-1 draw with German outfit 1860 Munich on Saturday after a challenge on Rodrigo Costa.
The tackle provoked a ten-man melee and both Derbyshire and Costa were shown red cards by Schalk.
However, Hughes was disappointed by the dismissals and insists the German official overreacted.
"I don't think the incident warranted two red cards," he stated.
"In pre-season, sometimes your timing is a bit off. Maybe yellow cards would have been right.
"It's still early in our preparations and it's also early in the referee's preparations.
"Maybe he needs a few more games."
