Blackburn defender Ryan Nelsen is set to miss his side's festive programme after falling foul of injury.
The New Zealand skipper missed Saturday's 3-2 win over West Ham after suffering a hamstring strain in training last week.
While Rovers manager Mark Hughes revealed the injury is not a serious concern it will preclude Nelsen's involvement in a number of matches, starting at Fulham on Saturday.
"He felt tightness but we actually think he's got a little bit of a strain in there," said Hughes.
"He went out on Thursday but wasn't able to train for any length of time, so he'll probably miss a couple of weeks."
The Welshman is boosted, however, by the return from suspension of captain Andy Todd for the trip to Craven Cottage.
Rovers were forced to utilise Lucas Neill and Zurab Khizanishvili in a makeshift central defensive pairing against The Hammers and Hughes will be grateful that Todd, at least, is available for selection once more.
