The Norway international required four stitches after twisting his knee and taking a stud to the Achilles area.
Pedersen is confident that the knock will only keep him out temporarily, of the opinion that he will not have to miss too much action.
"I got a twisted knee and got four stitches near the Achilles tendon," Gamst Pedersen told VG.
"Fortunately, the studs hit besides the tendon. I had an X-ray on the ligament and although it's achy, it seems fine."
Other than his injury Pedersen is enjoying life at Ewood Park and the progress being made under Mark Hughes, with the talented midfielder admitting to eyeing silverware.
''Of course I want to win something,'' he continued. ''We have the possibilities to do so in a few competitions.''
