Derbyshire stays at Wrexham

Matt Derbyshire has extended his loan at Wrexham for a further month.

Blackburn Rovers striker Matt Derbyshire has extended his loan at Wrexham for a further month.

Derbyshire joined the Welsh outfit in February to cover injuries in attack and has been in impressive form, scoring nine goals in 11 games.

The striker will now remain at the club through until The Dragons' final game of the season against Darlington on May 6.

The 19-year-old will be unable to participate in the play-offs for the League Two club, should Wrexham reach them, as terms of an emergency loan stipulate a player may only stay on loan for a maximum of three months.

Rovers will be able to recall the youngster at 24-hours' notice should injuries hit the UEFA Champions League hopefuls in the final games of the season.
