Blackburn's Ryan Nelson will miss a pre-season tour due to a hamstring injury.
Blackburn boss Mark Hughes has been handed a blow with news that Ryan Nelson will not be joining the rest of his team-mates on their pre-season tour of Holland and Germany.
The New Zealand international has fully recovered from a broken leg but has now pulled up with a minor hamstring problem.
Rovers chief Hughes has decided that it would be more beneficial for the 28-year-old stopper to recuperate in England rather than travel, eager to get his influential Kiwi back for the start of the Premiership campaign.
''It's a little bit of a niggle that he just can't shake off,'' Hughes told the club's official website.
''It is dragging on - it is a little bit of a niggle that he just can't shake off.
''He's continued to have treatment and we hope that it is going to resolve itself sooner rather than later.
''He may be better off staying behind to get more intense treatment than we'll be able to provide if we are in different surrounds.''
Goalkeeper Peter Enckelman is also to stay behind with an ankle injury, while David Bentley will travel after returning from a foot injury.
