Toifilou Maoulida is refusing to leave as he fights for his place at Marseille.
Toifilou Maoulida is refusing to leave Marseille as he fights for his place following the return to action of on-loan Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse.
Auxerre, Sochaux and Nantes are all rumoured to be interested in making a move for the player, but Maoulida has always claimed to be a life-long Marseille fan and wants to show his worth to the team.
"Leaving? It is absolutely out of the question," he told La Provence. "When a player is not enjoying much success on the pitch, it is logical for him to be solicited by other clubs.
"But, as far as I'm concerned, my aim is to finish the season with l'OM. I haven't pledged my allegiance to the club only to leave when the first difficult situation arises."
Meanwhile, former Strasbourg winger Salim Arrache is rumoured to be on the verge of joining Marseille.
Arrache will move on a free transfer having refused to extend his contract with Strasbourg last summer following their relegation, and he is currently in Marseille as he recovers from a knee ligament injury.
Manchester City and Blackburn are long-term admirers of the player, but it is believed he would favour a move to the city in which he was born.
