Carlisle have signed highly-rated Blackburn prospect Joe Garner on loan.
Carlisle have signed highly-rated Blackburn prospect Joe Garner on loan until the end of the season.
After graduating from Rovers' Academy, Garner has gone on to make a significant impact at reserve team level - his 10 appearances this season have yielded eight goals.
The 18-year-old is eligible for United's clash with Crewe at the weekend, and Rovers boss Mark Hughes will watch the striker's progress in Cumbria with interest.
Heading out of the club is Kevin Harper, whose loan spell has been cut short by injury, but the Stoke winger could still return to Brunton Park.
Harper joined the club on a three-month loan last year but a persistent calf strain has caused him to miss his side's last six games.
Harper has returned to the Potteries, but with his Stoke contract expiring in the summer, Carlisle boss Neil McDonald will continue to consider the player.
"He'll return there and we'll monitor his situation," said McDonald.
