Derby have made enquiries for Premiership full-backs Tyrone Mears and Jay McEveley.
Derby County have made enquiries for Premiership full-backs Tyrone Mears and Jay McEveley.
West Ham United defender Mears has been a long-term target of Rams boss Billy Davies, who worked with the player at Preston North End.
McEveley is also wanted by the promotion hopefuls and the club have confirmed that dialogue has been opened with Blackburn Rovers.
The club's interest in left-back McEveley comes after Norwich City issued a hands-off warning regarding reported target Adam Drury.
Norwich boss Peter Grant told the Eastern Daily Press: "I haven't seen anything or had any contact about Adam.
"He has 18 months left on his contract. We want to keep our best players and he's one of our best players."
Meanwhile, Derby have allowed midfielder Adam Bolder to discuss a move to Queens Park Rangers after rejecting a loan offer from Hull City.
"It is true that, following a call from QPR manager John Gregory, we have given permission to Adam to talk with QPR about personal terms," Derby managing director Mike Horton told the club's official website.
"We are mindful of the service that Adam has given to Derby County and felt that supporting him at this time was important.
"However, no agreement has been reached between the two clubs on a transfer fee."
