Winger concerned by Magpies interest in boss

Morten Gamst Pedersen has expressed his desire for Mark Hughes to remain at Blackburn Rovers. With Harry Redknapp ruling himself out of the running for the vacant managerial post at Newcastle, Hughes has now been installed as the favourite to take the reins at St James' Park. The Welshman has been slow to distance himself from the rumours, but Norwegian winger Pedersen remains hopeful that he will decide to remain at Ewood Park.

Big club

"I don't know if he will stay, I hope so," he told VG. "Newcastle are one of the biggest clubs in England. "He did recently sign a new deal, but in football you never know."
Not concerned
Pedersen also revealed that his recent lack of goals has not affected his confidence and that as long as others continue to score it will not become a problem. The winger has not found the target in 22 Premier League appearances this season, after grabbing six last term and nine during the 2005/06 campaign. "I'm not concerned by my lack of goals," he said. "There are plenty of others who score here."
